Open Command Prompt with Visual 2010 PowerCommands

First off, I love the PowerCommands for Visual Studio 2010 extension, even if it were only for the copy/paste functionality it adds for references! But one problem I have at the moment is that when I use the Open Command Prompt option in the project context menu, it runs CMD against the VS2008 tools. Not good.

As my current project is exclusively for .NET 4, I thought I’d post a quick way of getting around this otherwise superb feature.

Simply backup your copy of Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\Tools\vsvars32.bat – then override it with Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\Tools\vsvars32.bat – simple!

I’m sure there are other ways of changing your preference around, but for anyone looking at only using 2008 when absolutely required, this is pretty easy.
